The Advanced Open Water Diver course in Tossa de Mar, in the heart of the Costa Brava, is designed for certified divers who want to continue gaining experience, improve their technique, and expand their underwater skills.
The program consists of five (5) training dives in open water, each taken from the first dive of different specialty programs and accompanied by its corresponding explanation or theoretical class. Deep diving and navigation dives are mandatory within the program. This allows divers to broaden their experience and develop new skills in different underwater environments.
Each dive is carried out accompanied by an instructor, allowing technique to be refined and confidence in the water to be progressively built.
Taking this course in Tossa de Mar allows training in a natural environment with a great variety of underwater landscapes, making each dive a different experience.
The Advanced Open Water Diver is ideal for divers who want to continue progressing, acquire new skills, and enjoy more varied dives.
- Required level: Open Water Diver or equivalent certification
- Minimum age: 12 years for the Deep Diving specialty
How the course works
If you are not yet a Scuba Schools International (SSI) student, you must download the SSI app and create your personal diver profile. Once registered, you will receive your SSI student number.

If you already have your student number, simply book the course. After receiving the deposit, send us your SSI student number and indicate which specialties you are interested in, and we will assign you the Advanced Open Water Diver program on the platform.
Once the course is assigned, you will have access to the digital study material, where you will find the theoretical content that you must complete before carrying out the practical part.
The training then takes place in the sea through five open water training dives, always accompanied by an instructor.

- Diving insurance
It is mandatory to have valid diving insurance to participate in the activities. If you do not have it, it is possible to purchase it directly at the center.
